In case you didn’t catch it, the lovely folks at DICE unveiled the very first episode in the Battlefield 3 Fault Line video series, (Check it out here! You’ll thank us later.), and it’s such a doozie of a trailer with so much action and intensity, there may be some fine details you may have missed. Luckily, Off Duty Gamers has a full breakdown of Fault Line Episode I and it’s filled with a nice overview and analysis of the smaller things you may have missed, and it makes for a fascinating read.
Everything from the opening moments to the explosive finale are methodically dissected, with solid information about how the military works to back up their expert assessment. The Off Duty Gamers editors even went so far as to determine the exact location of the Marine unit by studying a map in-game and finding its real-world counterpart, and that's just one of many details discussed. It’s been a busy few days as Battlefield sets up for the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo, and we’re just about ready for everyone to visit us at the L.A. Convention Center. As our shipments arrived, things were a bit of a jumble as we organized what goes where and built up our entire booth, but as you’ll see in the pictures below taken throughout the past few days, things are coming together nicely.

E3 2011 kicked off with a bang, as this is the very first time we’ve shown multiplayer from Battlefield 3. Not only that, we presented the fully playable multiplayer mode Operation Metro, where a team of U.S. Marines must fight their way through various objectives in order to complete their mission. Players finally got to see what all the fuss is about, and we’re glad to report they’re ecstatic.
It seems that several members of the press agree with the fan reaction - it’s only day one and Battlefield 3 already has eight nominations for Best of E3 awards! The fine folks at dice have received nominations from media outlets such as IGN.com, GameSpot.com, Game Informer, GamePro, PC Gamer, Games Radar, and more, and we’re thrilled by these honors.

EA and DICE announced two editions of Battlefield 3 and the unique pre-order items available at participating retailers in North America today! We kicked things off this afternoon with the EA Press Conference, where EA showed its entire lineup for the year, but the party really started when Karl Magnus Troedsson, General Manager of DICE, took the stage to introduce what you all were waiting for - Battlefield 3. KM went on to discuss a bit about the Frostbite 2 engine, which allows for all the great new features included in Battlefield 3. We could discuss this, but we know seeing is believing, so take a look at what Frostbite 2 can do!
Following that, Troedsson introduced Battlefield 3 Executive Producer Patrick Bach to the audience, as he played a mission from BF3 titled Thunder Run. In this playthrough, Bach guide Cpl. What about multiplayer, you say? Well, glad you asked! Multiplayer will be available for everyone to play at the EA booth on the E3 show floor! Not only that, Battlefield 3 fans will also be able to stop by the booth to get their very personalized Battlefield 3 dog tag, making for a nice memento for those able to make it to the show. For those of you at home, we know you’re all excited to see BF3’s multiplayer in action, so without further ado, here’s the first multiplayer trailer for Battlefield 3 called Operation Metro.

DICE, an EA studio, the makers of the multi-platinum Battlefield: Bad Company series today announced a massive pre-order incentive for Battlefield 3, the long-awaited successor to the epic, internationally acclaimed 2005 game, Battlefield 2.
Battlefield 3 leaps ahead of its time with the power of Frostbite 2, DICE’s new cutting-edge game engine. This state-of-the-art technology is the foundation on which Battlefield 3 is built, delivering enhanced visual quality, a grand sense of scale, massive destruction, dynamic audio and character animation utilizing ANT technology from the latest EA SPORTS games.
The experience doesn’t stop with the engine – it just starts there. In Battlefield 3, players step into the role of the elite U.S. Marines. As the first boots on the ground, players will experience heart-pounding missions across diverse locations including Paris, Tehran and New York. As a U.S. Marine in the field, periods of tension and anticipation are punctuated by moments of complete chaos. As bullets whiz by, as walls crumble, as explosions force players to the ground, the battlefield feels more alive and interactive than ever before.
“We wanted to create the most immersive and emotionally powerful Battlefield game ever and we needed new technology to deliver on our vision,” said Patrick Bach, Executive Producer. “Battlefield 3 preserves the franchise’s signature sandbox style and even brings back classic fan favorites like jets, going prone and 64-player multiplayer on PC.”

E3 has come and gone and Battlefield 3 made a strong showing at the convention. Fans are able to see multiplayer for the first time in our fully playable multiplayer demo, giving everyone the chance to see things for themselves.
